I just tried Omnipage 17 with my new iPhone. The camera in the new iPhone 3GS is a 3megapixel, more than enough for Omnipage. I took pictures of a bunch of business cards instead of typing them all in. Omnipage was able to get all of the text from the cards saving me loads of work. I think i will seriously take advantage of this next time I go to a trade show. I’m now trying to figure out other ways I can incorporate Omnipage into my life.--Chris
UPDATE:
My wife downloaded an application for a job. They wanted you to print out the application and fill it out. Instead, we OCR’d the application PDF and made it an editable document. She was then able to fill out the application in Word and print it out neatly. I bet her application will stick out because it’s so neat compared to all the handwritten ones. --Chris<

A: Unfortunately I don’t have access to upgrade discounts right now. I don’t even see an upgrade version of Omnipage 17 standard.
Q: What cameras will it work with? Sam in Austin
A: Omnipage 17 can scan any JPG picture that has enough resolution to make out text. They say the minimum is 2 megapixel but in practice the contrast of the text is more important. Take multiple pictures to be sure you get a clean one.
Q: You said it’s only $134.99 but the total in the shopping cart is more than that! Anne in Raleigh
